Project ABLE's Online Peer Support Specialist Training (PSST): Weekend
Training Content
In this OHA-Approved 40-hour training, you will gain the skills necessary to foster empowering relationships and to model recovery.
We will cover a variety of topics, some of which include the history of mental health treatment, the recovery movement, wellness strategies, conflict resolution skills, identifying the differences between the medical and recovery models, boundaries, confidentiality, and trauma informed peer support. Most importantly, we will be exploring the ethos and philosophy of peer work and how remain true to your role.
Scheduling
This training takes place over two weekends, for a total of forty (40) hours.
Saturday and Sunday of the first weekend, and Friday through Sunday the second weekend.
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Each training day begins at 9:00 am; the video room will open at 8:00 am, and trainers will be available for questions or support by 8:30 am each day.
The training period begins at 9:00 am on February 22nd, and concludes at 5:00 pm on March 2nd.
Online Classroom (Powered by Kajabi)
The video room for this class will be available through our internal Kajabi course system. Details on how to access the online course will be sent via email to trainees. If you would like support in accessing the video room, please don't hesitate to contact anyone on our training team.
