Project ABLE's Peer Support Specialist Training (PSST): In-Person Salem Campus
Training Content
In this OHA-Approved 40-hour training, you will gain the skills necessary to foster empowering relationships and to model recovery.
We will cover a variety of topics, some of which include the history of mental health treatment, the recovery movement, wellness strategies, conflict resolution skills, identifying the differences between the medical and recovery models, boundaries, confidentiality, and trauma informed peer support. Most importantly, we will be exploring the ethos and philosophy of peer work and how remain true to your role.
Scheduling
This training takes place over five days, for a total of forty (40) hours.
Monday through Friday
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Each training day begins at 9:00 am; the classroom will open at 8:30 am, and trainers will be available for questions or support prior to class each day.
The training period begins at 9:00 am on September 8th and concludes at 5:00 pm on September 12th.
Catering
In person trainings feature a breakfast bar, catered lunch each day, and snack options for the afternoon, as well as a full coffee & beverage array (and sweet treats)!

30+ days before training start date = $50 dollar cancellation fee
Less than 30 days before training start date = $200 cancellation fee
