Rebecca is a thoughtful and strong individual who has worked with ProjectABLE on the Board of Directors since 2018 and has recently stepped into a new role as the Director for the Peer Respite and ABLE House as of 2024. With her new role, she's balancing a lot of responsibilities and pulling from her wealth of past job experience ranging from paramedic and management for both medical locations and restaurants to being a hands on advocate for many vulnerable groups and abuse awareness. With all of these skills, she strives to embody ABLE's ideals and is making sure that ABLE House will be ready to open of its first year.
She has shared that her favorite parts of ABLE are the holiday events and, more importantly, how much the organization makes a difference in people's lives. In fact, it's made quite an impact in hers, and she has found growth and support through both having had a peer support and having been one. This mutual support and the values that she stands by have in her own words "allowed her to grow into a kind and giving Mother and Meemaw". Which is important to her as spending time with the grandkids and being the best Meemaw she can be is one of the things she enjoys most outside of work, often dancing and playing ball with the kids.
Rebecca would also like to recognize Rosie, her 17 yo mixed pincher and pug, who "rescued her" almost 15 years ago as a reminder that animals too can be an important part of an individual's recovery and journey.
